Frequently asked questions

Is this the same as my school's GPA calculation?

It uses the standard US 4.0 unweighted scale (A=4.0, B=3.0, C=2.0, D=1.0, F=0.0, with +/- variants). Most US colleges and high schools use this; if your school uses a different scale, your transcript GPA can vary slightly.

How do I add my cumulative GPA?

Use the 'Prior cumulative' fields at the bottom of the form. We'll roll your new term grades into your overall GPA so you can see exactly where this term lands you.

Do pass/fail and audit classes count?

No — most schools exclude pass/fail, audited, and withdrawn classes from GPA calculations. Leave them out of the calculator.

Can I save my GPA across semesters?

Yes — create a free account and become a Freedom Fighter ($12/mo) to save unlimited semesters, compare them, and watch your trend over time.

Why does my GPA matter beyond school?

GPA gates scholarships, graduate-school admissions, some employers (especially first job out of school), professional licensing, and even insurance discounts (good-student auto rates). Treat it like a financial asset.
