How many cubic yards do I need for a 10x10 patio at 4 inches thick?
1.23 cubic yards. Add 10% waste and order 1.4 yards — most ready-mix companies require a 1-yard minimum anyway.
How many bags of concrete make a cubic yard?
About 60 bags of 60lb mix or 45 bags of 80lb mix per cubic yard. Bags are cheaper than ready-mix only for projects under 1 yard.
How thick should my concrete be?
4 inches for patios and walkways, 5–6 inches for driveways, 6+ inches with rebar for garage floors and anything bearing heavy loads.
